The sun feels warm upon your shoulders, and it’s time to start wearing flip-flops again! It’s not just the calendar saying Memorial Day is upon us. You can actually BELIEVE that summer is just around the corner! Seniors, you are donning your caps and gowns and celebrating your four years of high school. We are so proud of all that you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to hear about what comes next for you in college and beyond.
For our juniors and underclassmen, we celebrate you as well! When you reflect upon the past year, remember all the ways you’ve grown and succeeded. You may have transitioned back to in-person learning and developed a deeper commitment to your academic success. You may have worked hard in the studio to earn the leading role in the dance competition. Or you could have cultivated a strong relationship with a mentor that is resulting in a leadership position in one of your activities. All these accomplishments deserve recognition!
Juniors, everyone says 11th grade is tough. Now that it’s almost behind you, were they right!? From our perspective, you’ve been doing an outstanding job! All year, you have been keeping up your grades, preparing for standardized tests, and juggling your extra-curriculars and social life. And oh yeah, you had to learn parallel parking for your driver’s test as well!
Aside from all these commitments, you’ve also been meeting with us regularly to learn about different majors, review your college list, and get to work on your resume. Finish up the school year on a high note. These grades matter more than any other element of your application!
Hard work can be rewarding, but it’s vital to make your emotional wellness a priority as well. Now is the time to reflect, regroup and recharge! Make time this summer to have fun with your friends and relax. Take some time off at the end of the school year to celebrate all that you’ve accomplished.
As we transition our work with you to the summer months, you will focus on your personal statement and application tasks. You’ll be responsible for making appointments more often with us, which will develop your time management and organizational skills. Your writing skills will improve as you work through supplemental essay drafts, as well. You still have the bulk of your work ahead of you to get your applications out the door in time for the college application deadlines. But don’t worry- we’ve got you covered!
